Yes, You Can Afford a Home.

The Down Payment

You don't have to save a fortune to buy a home. With loan programs and lenders to fit almost every buyer's budget, you may have more options than you think.

The Closing Costs

Closing costs are the part of the transaction that help everyone who made the transaction happen get paid. Sometimes, all or a portion of these can be offset by seller and lender credits.

The Taxes

Property taxes are included in your mortgage payment, in what is called ESCROW. ESCROW keeps your taxes up to date and your home insured. No, buying a home will not burden you with big taxes.

Meet The Coughs

Bernard K. Cough II

(NMLS ID 2588688) Called "Bernie" by many or "Kiernan" to those closest to me, I grew up in Bucksport, Maine. I have close ties to a fair number of communities from Kittery to Saint Agatha, and back to Bar Harbor again. I have a passion for finance, cars, and local business. I serve my community as a director on the RSU 25 school board.

Family First

I live in Orland with my wife, Chelsi, and our two daughters Mariea, and Sylvia. We believe that the biggest thing missing from America right now is stable, happy families and the best way to support that is to get people into homes they can afford, where they can build that happy family.

The Way Life Should Be

I moved away when I was a young man, convinced I needed to chase a big dream. There are many great places to live in this beautiful country, but none quite like home. I want to make it easier for people to plan, and live their lives here. Two things are required to make that happen, homes and jobs.

Our Mission Statement

To expand access to homeownership through a comprehensive needs-based consultative sales process, including borrower education and pre-purchase planning. To alleviate economic distress in at-risk populations through substantially beneficial home loans transactions. To originate loans at competitive rates and fees.

The company will provide its clients with a world class customer service experience, a timely decision on their mortgage application, close the loan quickly by quickly assembling any and all documentation requested by lenders, and partner with attorneys or title agencies local to the borrower for convenient closings.

For borrowers whose qualifications are insufficient, we will provide counseling, planning, and referrals for relevant service providers to ensure that all clients, whether or not a loan results from their initial application, have a clear and attainable path to accomplishing their homeownership and financial goals.

An Eye On The Future

As Easy First Home Loans expands, we plan to establish a non-profit land development program with the aim of restoring a more achievable pricing floor in areas hardest hit by the housing shortage. Our goal is to make owning a home on a single income not only achievable but effortless for everyone.

Most land development companies focus on making high profits, often building homes with values higher than the median home price in the area they are built. In contrast, our non-profit arm will target a high inventory volume and significantly lower pricing than the median home price in the same area.

A robust housing market requires both inventory and buyers. By helping young people to buy homes early in their lives and making it easier for seniors to afford independent living through lower minimum home prices, we will ensure that people have the option to downsize or own a starter home to build equity and move up to a larger home when needed.

Dump Your Landlord

When you pay rent, that money is gone. when you own a home, that money goes up in value year, after year, after year. your landlord knows this... You're paying for his boat.
